Chloramphenicol
Indications:
Chloramaphenicol is used to treat serious infections in the different parts of the body. This antibiotic is not given to viral infections such as colds and flu. It is sometimes combined with other antibiotics. This drug should only be used for serious infection when other medicines fail to work. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor
How to take:
Chloramphenicol is taken as directed by the physician. It comes in a capsule form and is taken by mouth with or without food. It is best to take the capsule at regular intervals and finish the prescribed course of the drug. Do not take more than the prescribed dose. Swallow capsule as a whole, do not break, chew or crush. If a dose is missed, take one a soon as possible. For more detailed information please see label and please consult specialist. Do not take more Chloramphenicol than is indicated at the label without consulting a doctor. Continue to take this antibiotic even if you feel well, do not stop taking without talking to the doctor.
Precautions:
Chloramphenicol may interact with some medical conditions, therefore inform doctor before using this drug if pregnant, taking prescription and non-prescription drugs, have allergies to medicines, and have serious medical conditions. Some medicines may interact with Chloramphenicol so inform the doctor especially anti coagulant drugs.
