Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitors (PPI) which blocks the production of acid by the stomach. This drug suppresses gastric acid secretion relieving gastrointestinal distress and promoting ulcer healing.

Indications:

Omeprazole is used to treat heartburn and irritation of the esophagus caused by regurgitation. It is also be used as a short term treatment of ulcers in the stomach and small intestines. It can also lessen the risk of stomach bleeding in severe cases. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by the physician.

How to take:

Take Omeprazole as directed by the doctor. Take each tablet with a full glass of water on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before eating. Do not crush, chew, and open the capsule. Precautions:

Before the use of Omeprazole, the doctor should be informed of any allergies to Omeprazole and medical conditions such as heartburn.
