Gliclazide
Indications:
Gliclazide is used as treatment of Type 2 diabetes mellitus when all regimens such as diet and exercise have failed. This drug help control blood sugar levels to prevent diseases like heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, problems in circulation, and eye problems. How to take: :
Take gliclazide with meals and try to take the medication at the same time each day.
Precautions: :
When taking gliclazide, blood sugar levels needs to be check from time to time because on rare occasions hypoglycemia or low blood sugar can occur as a side effect of the medicine. Limit alcohol and food intake while on gliclazide which can delay the lowering of blood sugar. Also on rare occasion this drug can cause liver problems so the patient should report symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, fatigue, loss of appetite, and jaundice to the doctor. It is also best to wear protective clothing and use an effective sunscreen when outdoors.
