Cephalexin
Indications:
Cephalexin is used to treat certain infection that is caused by bacteria such as urinary tract infections, respiratory tract infections, and bone, ear, and skin infections. This type of antibiotic does not work for viral infections such a cold or flu. It may also be used for other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How to take:
Cephalexin is taken as directed by the physician. This drug is in capsule form to be taken by mouth with or without food. It is best to take the capsule at regular intervals and finish the prescribed course of the drug. If a dose is missed, take one as soon as possible. For more detailed information please see label and please consult specialist. Do not take more Cephalexin than is indicated at the label without consulting a doctor. Continue to take this antibiotic even if you feel well, do not stop taking without talking to the doctor. Stopping this medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow, which may result in a relapse of the infection.
Precautions:
Inform doctor of allergies to Cephalexin, cephalosporin or other antibiotics. Before using Cefaclor inform the doctor of medical condition if any especially of severe type such as stomach disease, kidney or liver diseases, and colitis. It is also recommended to tell the doctor what prescription and non-prescription drugs taken especially anti coagulants, probenecid, vitamins, herbal products and other antibiotics. This drug is known to be excreted in breastmilk therefore use only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Consult doctor before breastfeeding.
