Indication:

Zithromax belongs to a group of drugs called macrolide antibiotics. It fights bacteria in the body. Zithromax is a good choice for children who are allergic to penicillin

How to take:

Take Zithromax exactly as prescribed by the physician. Do not take Zithromax in large amounts and for longer periods of time. Dose and length of treatment with Zithromax may differ according to type and severity of infection.

Zithromax should be taken with a full glass of water. Each capsule must be taken before eating or on an empty stomach at least an hour or two before eating a meal. For Zithromax in tablet form it may be taken with or without food.

Zithromax should be taken for the entire length prescribed by the doctor. Symptoms may get better before the infection is completely treated however treatment should continue until prescribed.

Precautions:

Antacids can make Zithromax less effective when taken at the same time. Therefore avoid the use of antacids when in Zithromax treatment. Also, Zithromax may induce common side effects in children such as diarrhea, stomachache, vomiting, nausea, and allergic reactions.

Avoid exposure to sunlight during Zithromax therapy as it may make the skin more sensitive to sunlight thereby resulting to sunburn. Use sunblock and protective clothing when out in the sun.
