Famotidine (H2 Block, Biomedis)
Indications:
Famotidine is used for short term treatment of active duodenal ulcer. Maintenance therapy for duodenal ulcer, at reduced dosage, after active ulcer has healed. It is also used for treatment of active benign gastric ulcer and for short term treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD).
How to take:
Take Famotidine as directed by the doctor. Take each tablet with a full glass of water. Do not crush, or chew the tablet. If a dose is missed, take one as soon as possible. For more detailed information please see label and please consult specialist. Do not take more Famotidine than it is indicated at the label without consulting your doctor.
Precautions:
Famotidine may cause dizziness, headaches and anxiety, use caution with activities requiring mental alertness and report if symptoms persist. Also, increase fluids and bulk in diet to prevent constipation. Avoid alcohol, aspirin-containing products, OTC cough and cold products, smoking, and foods that increase gastric irritation.
